50. Mediaeval Baebes - Devotion

Mediaeval Baebes - Devotion

What an odd little CD! On the face of it, it would seem to be a compilation CD. There is only one "new" track (Orientus), but some of the songs are actually not the standard, album versions. Adam Lay Ibounden, for example, is not the version from Salva Nos (nor is Salva Nos, for that matter). The liner notes are no help here either.

The correct track list is:

9. Salva Nos (NOT Star of the Sea)
10. Love Me Broughte (NOT Salva Nos)
11. Maiden in the Mor Lay (correct in track list)
12. Star of the Sea (NOT Love Me Broughte)

On another note, I ordered the Devotion CD, along with a Live at Gloucester Cathedral DVD, direct from the Baebes' website.
The postal service then lost my package. TWICE.

So what did the Baebes do about it?
They sent me all this extra stuff for free!

49. Mediaeval Baebes: Miracle

Mediaeval Baebes - "Miracle"(2008)

Miracle (remix)
The Shepherd's Song
Invocation

This is the extra CD that came with the Special Limited Edition of the Illumination album.

Good songs.
Slightly annoying, the intrusion of co-author Nick Marsh's voice on The Shepherd's Song.

48. Mediaeval Baebes: Backlounge Butterfly

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I MISSED A MEDIAEVAL BAEBES SONG FROM BACK IN 2005?

Well apparently I did.
For 7 or 8 years there's been a Baebes song floating around out there
that I knew nothing about.
Unbelievable!

"Backlounge Butterfly
from the Acid Jazz compilation
The New Testament of Folk (2005)

It's a great song too!
A bouncy little number, without lyrics to speak of.
Find this!
